Cornucopia Oat Burgers

Cornucopia Oat Burgers

4 tsp canola oil
1 cup chopped onions
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup fresh breadcrumbs
1 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 cup flour
1 tsp dried sage
1/2 tsp dried thyme
1/2 tsp salt
1-1/3 cups boiling water

Saute onions in oil until tender and golden brown.  Place remaining dry ingredients in bowl and mix well.  Pour in boiling water and stir again, then add onions and let rest for 10 minutes.  Form into 8 patties, then brown patties in skillet with a bit of oil.
