White Bean Burgers

White Bean Burgers

1 can (15 oz) white beans
2 small chili peppers, seeds removed and chopped finely
1 medium onion, chopped finely
1 tsp olive oil
1/2 cup whole-wheat bread crumbs
1/2 tsp garlic flakes
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup yellow cornmeal

Drain beans, then mash in a bowl with a fork.  In a frying pan, saute onion and peppers in the oil.  Add this to mashed beans, then add the bread crumbs, garlic, and salt.  Shape into 8 patties and coat with cornmeal before frying over medium heat until crisp on both sides.
