1 1/3 cups water 1 can (14 oz) garbanzo beans, rinsed well
1 medium onion, quartered ¾ tsp salt 1 tsp garlic powder 1 tsp dried sage 2 Tb lite soy sauce
2 cups rolled oats
1/4 cup walnuts, ground or chopped fine
Blend water,
garbanzos, and onion in blender until mixed. Add salt, garlic, sage, and soy sauce and process until smooth. Pour into mixing
bowl and add oats and walnuts. Mix well, then prepare baking sheets by coating with nonstick spray. Spoon into patties on
baking sheets then bake at 375 degrees for about 30 minutes, flipping patties halfway through. Makes about 12 large patties.
Serve on buns with the typical fixings, or consider alternative toppings such as sauteed onions, peppers, or mushrooms or
avocado slices/guacamole.
